I was taken to this restaurant as pay for doing some home repairs for a friend. We went there on a Sunday and I was surprised that they were not very busy. I ordered the New York strip. When asked how I wanted it cooked I asked for it to be Pittsburgh style( if you don't know its when a steak is charred on the outside, red on the inside). Now a steak house should have a grill person who can do this, but I have found that not to be the case and such was the case here. I was brought a rare steak slightly, slightly cooked on the outside. So when I could get our absentee server to take it back to the kitchen I told him tell the cook to just burn it...so more than an half hour later the general manager went to the kitchen to get get my dinner. I had ordered some mashed potatoes with my steak and they went to the kitchen with the steak. When my meal was returned to me same old mashed potatoes were on the plate, The steak was burnt and tasted very good. It might have been an off night but they did not seem to care a guess had a problem and the server seemed to have been trained at a Mc Donalds drive thru. Visit them at your own risk if you do not expect much of them you will probably enjoy your time there.

I stopped in here today for lunch and was seated within a reasonable amount of time given the fact they were not that busy. My server was prompt and courteous and I ordered French Onion Soup & half a "shaved prime rib" sandwich. I put quotes around the description because that's their description. The first bite, I encountered a hard, gristly meat-like substance about a half inch in diameter and even after discreetly spitting it into a napkin I still can't describe it any better. I went back to the soup (which btw, wasn't bad) and later tried another bite of the "shaved prime rib" got a strong hit of warm slimy mushroom and some onion mixed in. I opened the sandwich on a vain search for the advertised "prime rib". The kicker came when the server asked if I wanted a box for my sandwich and I replied No, the sandwich was NOT GOOD. Her response? "OK I'll get your check then"...... I won't be back!

Stopped in on a Sunday at around 3:30 PM and sat right down of course. Quiet and cozy in the dining room, great service and the food was exactly what you would want from a steakhouse. Perfectly cooked steak with just the right amount of seasoning. The only thing to complain about is the price, but hey, you want a good steak you gotta pay. If we go back at a super busy time and the service and food is as good I'll give it 5 stars.

Decided to try this place since the commercials make it look great. Not so much. The hosts seemed to cherry-pick the customers to be seated first. My husband and I were seated in a booth right by the wait staff hang out spot. Talk about annoying, they just kept hanging around the computer and chatting. We ordered what sounded like decent food but were horribly disappointed. We both had the dinner salad which My husband's steak was seasoned with cayenne pepper and not much else, even though it was cooked perfectly. I decided on a burger, thinking that a steakhouse would be able to cook a burger. Again, I was wrong. My burger was uneven in size and shape as well as the way it was cooked. It was very dry and tasteless. Needless to say, we won't be going back. We are going back to Texas Roadhouse where we get better service, better food, better prices, and an all around better experience.

Great food, atmosphere, service and management. It is always my go to place for a tasty steak. Going again tonight! Hope to try something new and I am sure I will be pleasantly surprised by the great flavors.

The food is OK, nothing special. Not sure why the hostess told me to wait 5 minutes, there were open tables. So I sat in the bar, then decided to order my food from there. I noticed the bar tender was actually waiting tables in the bar area. People would come in and wait and leave before he even took their order. When I asked him that maybe he needed to stay the behind the bar he said he wouldn't get any tips if he did that. He needs to wait on food orders to make any money. So the slow service at the bar is due to him wanting more tips. The steak was OK, there were some grissel parts that I could not chew up. The corn on the cob was grilled and edible but I wouldn't get it again. I have never had good corn on the cob in a restaurant, not sure why I thought this place would be any different. Overall, there was nothing to make me want to come back.

I had never been here before. Spouse is out of town so I decided that the 8 yo and I would go out to dinner. We were greeted promptly by Elisabeth who seated us and was also our server. She was friendly and knowledgeable which is always good. She suggested some appetizers but we passed. She brought us some housemade whole wheat bread which looked good but was probably a bit old as the crust was so hard we couldn't eat it. She didn't offer more so we didn't try a fresh loaf, bit then we didn't finish the one she gave us. I didn't want to fill up on bread. I started with the Grilled Watermelon Salad. It appears to be a seasonal dish due to the watermelon. The pictures on the menu looks great. The salad included kale and goat cheese and looked great. When it came out, it looked wonderful. Beautiful presentation. The dressing, which I think was a lemon based dressing, was way too sweet for my taste. I liked the nice balsamic drizzle on the salad and there was a generous amount of crumbled goat cheese. The watermelon had an "off" taste and I wondered about it's freshness, after a bite, I didn't finish it. Also, there was a large amount of lettuce cores in the salad, probably about 1/4 to 1/3 of the lettuce which is too much for me as I dont like to eat the tough core. For my entree, I selected the 8 oz sirloin with the steakhouse macaroni and cheese. The steak looked great and was cooked to perfection at medium rare. The flavor was great and it was not too tough. The macaroni seemed a bit dry at first but I was able to stir it up, the liquids seemed to go to the bottom. Nice cheesy consistency with bacon. I enjoyed it. The steak came with a side and a salad but both of the sides I chose cost an additional $1.49. Elisabeth did tell me this at the time I ordered. The kids menu has many choices and my son picked the kids sirloin. He said why go to a steakhouse and not get steak! He chose fries as his side. The steak was very thin but it was a kids size. The fries were hot and you could smell the season salt on them. He enjoyed the meal and gave it a thumbs up. He wants to eat there again for his upcoming birthday. He talked me into the Brownie sundae for dessert. It had a nice presentation, can served in a large martini glass. Two pieces of brownie with vanilla ice cream in the center, generously topped with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a cherry. We both enjoyed it. I'm sure if I had mentioned things like the bread they would have corrected it. I just didn't feel like complaining about things. We'll be back.

This is my second update on this place and I honestly don't think its going to get any better. My wife and I went today, Saturday, at around 1:30pm. I had the Wild West Shrimp and the T-Bone steak and she had the Pretzel Sticks and the Bourbon Glazed Salmon, I took pictures of all four and posted them on Yelp. The Wild West Shrimp were crunchy and goo but the T-Bone was way over seasoned, (too salty), and it was smothered in butter, from top to bottom. I picked the T-bone up and it was laying in a pool of butter. When I cut off my first few bites, all I could taste was butter. This shouldn't happen to a $23 steak. I understand that they use butter to keep it moist while its cooking, I get that, but this was way too much butter and it was swimming in it. I tried to take a picture, but I accidentally deleted it. The service was good. We had to wait a few minutes to be greeted by our waiter, which was okay. Taylor was great and he took care of us. He was very nice and knowledgeable. My wife wanted a particular dessert and I wanted lamb chops, both of which were seasonal and eliminated from the menu a week prior, which was just bad timing. Overall, I don't think I'll come back to Longhorn. I gave it three chances and the past two were a waste of my time and money. I really wanted to like it, but I can't ignore the poor quality of the food and cooking. I even saw in other reviews that a lot of food here has been too salty for other people, and I definitely agree after what I had today.

Update: The manager of LongHorn reached out to me after seeing my review on Yelp. I felt guilty accepting the generous gift card, but was happy to go back and have a better experience. We went for lunch thinking we could try more at that time. I was excited to try a lemon-blueberry dessert and my husband- the lamb chops. Both were no longer available having been a promotional items. Bummer :( We were greeted on arrival by several different people who made us feel very welcome. It took a while for a to be greeted, but Taylor was a delight and did a great job serving us. He was prompt and friendly. We started out with the pretzels and Wild West Shrimp. The pretzels were soft and cheese was tasty. I did not try the shrimp, but my husband loves them and you literally get a boat of them. Not too bad of a deal. I ordered the glazed salmon and tomato basil soup. Both were excellent and the salmon cooked perfectly. If there's tomato basil or bisque soup on the menu, I usually get it. This one was up there for being one of my favorites, with chucks of tomatoes in the soup. I was satisfied with my meal. My husband, not so much. He order the t-bone steak rare. I took a bite and it was way over seasoned and super buttery. After scraping all the butter off, the steak was swimming. A little disappointing, but may just be our preference. It was super tender. My last complaint about the facility was that the table was greasy, the chairs were dirty, as well as the menus. All were very clean and made me feel a little at ease. I'd like to come back and try their Happy Hour menu.

I come here quite regularly, and it's always fantastic. However, today was slightly different. Fantastic in a different way. The person I was eating with had Prime Rib, rare. It was cooked perfectly and was delicious---per usual. My New York strip, however, was overdone (Very well done as opposed to medium well). They asked how everything was, and I said my steak was well done but not to worry about it (I was pretty hungry and I don't like to complain). Well, long story short, they comp'd both of our meals even though the other person's was absolutely perfect. The manager said, "You both came here to eat and have a good time. No one likes waiting for their food to cook *again* while watching someone else eat, so we'll be taking care of both of your meals tonight". Needless to say, I'm pleased. It's awesome that our favorite place to get steak also has fantastic customer service. Left 30% tip, and I'm looking forward to returning in the near future.

Service was excellent. Waitress, hostess and manager were all professional and kind. We requested to sit in the table in the back and have the booth to the side for the children (as the children asked for this) and they were very accommodating. Food was super salty. Every now and then- I come here and the chef has a heavy hand with salt. The parm chicken was super salty, steaks were salty and the lobster was salty. Ugh. I didn't send anything back because... well, I was HUNGRY lol. And just drank water to bare the salt. Usually I would have sent it back. Sangria... delish. Seating--- Lovely. We sat in the back in the "formal dinning room table" which we requested. The one in council bluffs has a round table but the Longhorn in Omaha has a more secluded oval table in the back... So I was a little disappointed that this table was not as secluded as the Omaha location. Despite the food being salty... it wouldn't discourage me from trying it again... maybe a month or two down the line. When longhorn is not salty-- they are delish... as a matter of fact- we when come to Longhorn and they aren't salty... it leaves us wanting more and we end up patronizing the restaurant twice a month. But, I'll give them a little break.

The past 2 times I've been here it was on a pretty busy night and great service and food. Came in tonight, it was super dead, only about 4 other tables. Food was great as usual, service SUCKED!! Where do I begin here, so my first time trying this place and I must say was highly unimpressed. Took forever to place our order and I ordered the 14 oz New York Strip which is my go too choice. My friend ordered the same and then we patiently waited and as our orders came out the runner asked for the ribeye with fries as we both looked at one another confused she passed him his strip with mashed taters. I told her that I didn't order the ribeye and she just looked at me confused and left the plate said she'd get the manager over. So after about five minutes he comes over and asks me aboutbthe steak as a question not as an issue which confused me a bit. I told him I ordered one thing got another and this is where my complaint comes in and he tried to lie to me about some steaks are handcut and some come prepackaged and whatever but you can't bring out one strip and a ribeye and expect me to believe the be you're trying to feed me. They did take care if the bill and that's not what I was looking for, I just wanted to not be lied to about the order.

The food here is good, but the steak my Grandfather ordered was not what he got. We drove from Omaha to Council Bluffs because we thought the filet's at LongHorn would be more tender than the Texas Roadhouse steaks near my parent's house. My mother and Grandfather ordered filet mignons. What they received were very different. My Grandfather's steak was hard to cut and hard for him to chew. My mother's steak was clearly a filet mignon. It's not acceptable to pay the extra money for a filet and get a cheaper steak. How many times do we have to hear about getting the wrong cut of beef or the wrong fish before someone does something about it?

Went there to celebrate my birthday and my father's birthday. My father decided to try risotto for the first time. When Matt(our waiter) noticed he didnt finish it asked if there was something wrong with it. Matt apologized and offered to get him another one. When he explained it was his first time trying it and he now knows he doesn't like risotto. Matt then even offered to get him a different side. We politely refused saying we were done and it wasn't necessary. We were then visited by two managers about "our problem with the food". If this is how much the staff care about the risotto, says a lot about how they care about food. Next time I'm in town, I know where Im eating steak.

We decided to try this Longhorn due to the less wait time compared to the Omaha locations. The place is clean and the servers have been really nice and attentive. We went here a couple weeks ago and I ordered my very rare (aka Blue) steak. It was cooked to perfection, just very quickly seared on either side and the inside was blue. Fantastic. I would have rated it less that I did, had they not remedied my experience with them last night. I ordered a filet and a lobster tail (they actually cook their lobster tails rather well). I ordered my usual very rare, but actually asked for "very very rare". My S.O. order a bacon wrapped filet medium rare. We were waiting for our meal and the table of six sat down after us, had received their meal. Since I was not starving (thanks to the free grain bread), I wasn't too concerned with this at the moment. But I did wonder about our steaks considering that rare means pretty much not cooked, and medium rare is only a few minutes of cooking time (probably about 7 I suppose). We get our food, and I promptly cut into the corner of my steak. It was medium. So I cut into the center of my steak, medium rare. My hubby cuts into the center of his steak, and his is gray on the inside, a little past medium. No pink, so pinkish juice, nada. So we sit and had to order new steaks. I felt bad about sending two steaks back, but the past medium steak was a little much. They promptly redid our steaks and comped our meal. We will be back again. Restaurants make mistakes. When they address the issues promptly, it goes to show the service they have and their dedication to their customers.

I've eaten here many times and the food is always great. The service is usually spot on and the prices are reasonable. Good variety and great steaks. I highly recommend the Mac N Cheese, I'm not usually a Mac N Cheese person but you have to try theirs if you go. All in all a very good Restaraunt.

Love this restaurant. The food and service is always excellent and if you are meeting friends, it is a nice quiet environment in which you can have a conversation.

Our food was superb, server and manager went out of their way to make our 29th wedding anniversary great. Steaks and shrimp was very tasty and good portion size. will definitely be coming back to this restaurant.

The service here is great and the food is awesome. Although the prices are kinda high the lunch menu is unbeatable and the portions are reasonably sized. I would gladly recommend this restaurant to anyone that asked about a steakhouse.
